An event was held at KazNU within the framework of SDG-3 on the topic «Good health and well-being»

In accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3), on April 21, 2026, 1st-year Master's students of the «7M01504 – Biology» educational program of the department of Biophysics, biomedicine and neuroscience at 91ý Kazakh National University organized an event titled «Good Health and Well-being». The event was held for 1st-year undergraduate students of the «6B05109 – Neuroscience» educational program under the guidance of senior lecturer A.N. Kozhakhmetova and associate professor G.K. Atanbaeva, deputy head of the department for Academic and educational affairs.

An educational session on «Good Health and Well-being» was conducted for the first-year student academic group. The primary objectives of the event were to enhance students' knowledge regarding health maintenance, promote a healthy lifestyle, prevent harmful habits, and improve psychological well-being.

During the session, students were provided with comprehensive information on the concept of a healthy lifestyle and its core pillars, including balanced nutrition, physical activity, personal hygiene, and mental health. The discussion also highlighted the detrimental effects of harmful habits, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and poor dietary choices, on the human body. Furthermore, particular emphasis was placed on fostering a culture of health consciousness within the student group, encouraging mutual support and a collective commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The event was conducted in an interactive format, featuring open discussions and debates. Students actively shared their views, provided real-life examples related to healthy living, and discussed various methods for maintaining and improving overall health. As a result, the participants reached a collective conclusion on the vital importance of balanced nutrition, physical activity, and the preservation of psychological well-being in their daily lives.

1st-year undergraduate students of the «6B05109 – Neuroscience» educational program, Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience, 91ý Kazakh National University.

A.N. Kozhakhmetova – senior lecturer of the department of Biophysics, biomedicine and neuroscience.

G.K. Atanbaeva – associate professor, deputy head of the department for Academic and educational affairs.

As a result of the conducted educational session, students gained an understanding of a healthy lifestyle, its main components, and the factors affecting health. In this regard, a short performance prepared by the students was presented. In addition, students recognized the importance of proper nutrition, physical activity, personal hygiene, and maintaining psychological well-being. Students also developed an understanding of the need to take responsibility for their own health and to promote a healthy environment.

 

During the discussion, students actively participated, expressed their opinions, and discussed various situations related to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This contributed to developing their sense of responsibility for their own health and encouraged the formation of healthy habits in their daily lives.

 

 

Overall, the conducted event had a positive educational impact: students developed an understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and their interest in taking responsibility for their own health and developing healthy habits increased. The educational session contributed to fostering active participation and a positive atmosphere within the student group, as well as promoting the development of a health-conscious culture.
