A PATH TO THE FUTURE: THE OPEN DAY OF THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES — A HUB OF OPPORTUNITIES

On April 22, 2026, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 91ý Kazakh National University hosted an Open Day for prospective students at a high organizational level, bringing together young people striving for knowledge and a successful future. The event was held within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 4 — ensuring quality education — and clearly demonstrated the university’s strategic mission.

The main objective of the event was to introduce applicants to the educational programs offered by the Department of Turkology and the History of Eastern Countries, to reveal the depth of Eastern languages and cultures, and to establish direct communication with faculty members and students. Participants not only learned about the specifics of the academic process but also received clear answers to their questions.

The department’s educational programs fully meet modern labor market demands. For applicants who selected English and World History in the UNT, the following programs were presented: “6B02207 – Oriental Studies,” “6B02302 – Translation Studies (Eastern Languages),” and “6B02301 – Foreign Philology (Eastern Languages).” Their content and career prospects were explained in detail. These programs aim not only to develop linguistic competence but also to enhance intercultural communication and analytical thinking skills.

International cooperation is one of the faculty’s key advantages. Students have opportunities to study at leading universities in Turkey through Erasmus+ and Orhun academic mobility programs and to undertake research internships. This experience broadens their professional horizons and helps shape globally competitive specialists.

The faculty places strong emphasis on students’ holistic development. Various cultural events, creative evenings, intellectual competitions, and thematic weeks foster leadership skills and enhance creative potential. This environment is not only a place for education but also a vital platform for personal growth.

Research activities are also highly relevant. Comprehensive studies are conducted on diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey, Turkish language and literature, culture, and translation studies. These areas enable students to develop research skills and engage in academic work.

The event was attended by students from 21 schools, who explored faculty life and enjoyed a концерт program. They received comprehensive information about study opportunities and took an important step toward choosing their future careers.

The Open Day of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is not just an introductory event but a gateway to great opportunities. For young applicants, it became a source of new goals and inspiration.

Take a confident step toward your dream career — your future begins at 91ý Kazakh National University!
