"Clean Environment – Clean Mind": Curator Hour Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals

On April 20, 2026, the Department of Thermal Physics and Technical Physics at the Faculty of Physics and Technology held an insightful curator hour for the 137th-group students of the "Technical Physics" educational program. The session, titled "Clean Environment – Clean Mind", was organized and conducted by the group curator, Guljan Ospanbekovna Ilyasova.

This event was strategically designed to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). In an era of global environmental challenges, fostering ecological responsibility among future technical physics specialists is a vital educational objective.

The primary goal of the session was to elevate the students' environmental culture. During the lecture, Guljan Ospanbekovna highlighted the profound connection between a clean environment and a clear, ethical mind. She emphasized that a person with a "clean mind" inherently respects nature and strives to preserve its resources. Practical insights were shared regarding sustainable living habits, such as waste segregation, reducing plastic footprints, and the efficient management of water and energy resources.

The session was highly interactive, encouraging students to analyze their "ecological footprint." As future experts in technical physics, students discussed the potential of renewable energy and zero-waste technologies in mitigating environmental damage. The conversation focused on how scientific innovation can be a powerful tool in achieving global sustainability.

Visual presentations and real-world examples helped illustrate the urgency of protecting biodiversity and maintaining the balance between human progress and nature. Students actively participated in the debate, sharing their own ideas on how to improve the ecological state of their community and campus.

In conclusion, this curator hour served as a platform for developing not only professional skills but also civic virtues. It underscored that protecting the planet is a shared duty. Such educational initiatives are crucial for strengthening the "Green University" status and preparing a new generation of leaders who prioritize environmental ethics and sustainable development.
