An advisory session titled “Cleanliness Begins with Us” was conducted for students under the guidance of advisors M. Mukhamedryskyzy, A. Tazhen, and K. Baiseitov from the Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology and Computer Physics.
The main objective of the session was to promote environmental awareness among students, enhance their sense of responsibility toward the environment, and develop an informed perspective on global environmental challenges. Today, environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, and resource depletion are among the most pressing concerns worldwide.
During the theoretical part of the session, students discussed key concepts such as ecological balance, sustainable development, and the role of individuals in environmental protection. Participants actively exchanged ideas on waste management and the development of environmentally responsible behavior.
The practical component involved a clean-up activity on the university campus. Students collected litter, gathered fallen leaves, sorted waste, and disposed of it in designated areas. They also carried out maintenance work for green spaces.
Throughout the activity, participants demonstrated teamwork, initiative, and responsibility. They realized that environmental challenges can be addressed not only through theoretical understanding but also through practical actions.
In conclusion, students agreed that environmental cleanliness should not be a one-time activity but a consistent part of everyday life. The principle “Cleanliness Begins with Us” highlights the personal responsibility of each individual in preserving the environment.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities,
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production,
SDG 13 – Climate Action.
Overall, the session served as an important step in developing students’ environmental awareness and strengthening their civic responsibility.
