Cooperation with universities in Malaysia is expanding
A delegation from Malaysia's Global Education Service (EMGS) visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The visit was led by Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, Chairman of EMGS Shalimin Ahmad Shaffi.
The main purpose of the visit is to deepen academic ties and identify new areas of partnership between the leading university in Kazakhstan and universities in Malaysia.

Before the official meeting with the university administration, the guests visited the KazNU History Museum, where they got acquainted with the rich past and modern achievements of the university. Then the delegation was received by Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazNU, First Vice–rector Yerkin Duisenov.
During the meeting, the First Vice-rector noted the close and fruitful cooperation of KazNU with eight leading universities in Malaysia. Today, the parties actively cooperate within the framework of student and teacher exchange programs, conduct joint scientific research and train PhD students. In particular, it was noted that in the 2025-26 academic year, a number of KazNU scientists and students successfully completed scientific internships at leading universities in Malaysia.

In turn, Mr. Shalimin Ahmad Shaffi expressed his admiration for KazNU's high authority in the Asian educational space and its performance in the international QS ranking. He stressed the Malaysian side's special interest in expanding cooperation, sharing experiences and conducting joint interdisciplinary research.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to introduce innovative educational programs and bring academic partnership to a qualitatively new level.
