Educational ties with Spain reach a new level
Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Spain to Kazakhstan Luis Francisco Martinez.
The strategically significant meeting was also attended by Fernando Martinez Vara de Rey, Director of the Cervantes Institute in Istanbul, and Enrique Cuero, Professor at the University of Granada. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation and large-scale projects in the field of education.

The head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, put forward a number of important initiatives during the meeting. The rector announced a proposal to open a branch of KazNU in Spain. This step will strengthen scientific ties between the two countries and will contribute to the promotion of Kazakhstan's educational brand in Europe. In addition, the issue of establishing an international research center on the basis of KazNU in cooperation with leading Spanish universities was raised.
"Today, there is a high interest among Kazakhstani youth in learning Spanish. Given this request, we are ready to implement joint projects",- said Zh.Tuimebayev.

In turn, Ambassador Luis Francisco Martinez highly appreciated the Rector's proposals and expressed the Spanish side's full willingness to cooperate. According to Mr. Ambassador, the opening of the Spanish language center at KazNU will contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists who are internationally competitive. Such initiatives will not only strengthen cultural ties, but also take academic and professional partnerships to new frontiers.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a joint work schedule for the implementation of specific projects.
