On April 20, 2026, an educational event was held on the topic “Innovative Approaches in Social Pedagogy: Child Protection and the Development of Professional Competence.” The event was organized in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals 8 and 10 proposed by the United Nations: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Reduced Inequalities.
The main purpose of the event was to enhance students’ social responsibility, draw attention to child rights protection issues, and develop the professional competence of future social pedagogues. In addition, participants were introduced to effective ways of working through the use of modern pedagogical technologies and innovative methods and approaches.
During the event, participants actively engaged in group work, discussions, and practical tasks. Current issues in the field of child protection were discussed, and possible solutions were proposed based on specific cases. The participants emphasized the importance of ethics, responsibility, and creativity in the professional activity of a social pedagogue.
As a result of the educational event, the participants expanded their knowledge in the field of child rights protection and developed professionally significant competencies. In addition, their understanding of the meaning and importance of the Sustainable Development Goals increased.
The event was organized by first-year doctoral students of the 8D1802 “Social Pedagogy” educational program, A.S. Zhumagaliyeva and A.Ye. Ismailova.
