On April 21, 2026, within the framework of pedagogical practice, first-year master’s student of the educational program “7M05119 – Reproductive Genetics,” Anel Yerdimurat conducted an open advisor hour for the group of Serbayeva A.D. - third-year students of the educational program “6B05103 – Biotechnology” on the topic “Goal Setting as a Path to Success. Vision Board.”

The session was organized within the framework of the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal №4 “Quality Education.” This goal is aimed at developing learners’ life skills. Therefore, special attention during the session was given to students’ self-development and their ability to set goals consciously.
The main objective of the session was to develop students’ understanding of the importance of setting personal goals, to familiarize them with the key principles of achieving success, and to shape their vision of the future through the “vision board” method. In addition, the session aimed to develop self-awareness, increase internal motivation, and form the ability for conscious planning.
During the session, students received information about the role of goals in human life. The main principles of goal setting were discussed, including specificity, measurability, achievability, relevance, and time-bound nature (SMART principle). Possible difficulties in achieving goals and ways to overcome them were also discussed.
In the practical part of the session, students worked with the “vision board” method. Each participant identified their goals and dreams and visually represented them on paper.
In the interactive part, students were divided into small groups, where they shared their goals, discussed ways to achieve them, and presented their work. This activity contributed to the development of students’ communication skills.
In the final part of the session, participants provided feedback and highlighted the importance of goal setting.
Overall, the objectives of the session were successfully achieved. The activity had a positive impact on students’ personal development and contributed to fostering their responsibility for their future.
