Open Educational Session “TazaLike” within the framework of UN SDG 15 “Life on Land” under the “Clean Kazakhstan” campaign

On April 24, 2026, as part of pedagogical practice, master’s trainee of the educational program “7M05105 – Genetics” Bokil Zh.B. conducted an open advisory session titled “TazaLike” for 1st-year students of the educational program “6B05105 – Genetics”, academic adviser Seydakhmetova G.B., within the framework of the “Clean Kazakhstan” campaign. This session represented a practical implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15 – “Life on Land,” which is aimed at environmental protection, the formation of ecological culture, and the rational use of natural resources to ensure sustainable development. During the session, special attention was paid to increasing students’ sense of responsibility toward nature, developing environmental awareness, and fostering a caring attitude toward the environment.

Students were introduced to current environmental issues such as environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and the decline of biodiversity. In addition, the significance of the “Clean Kazakhstan” campaign and its role in promoting ecological culture in society was discussed. Students shared their views on how they can contribute to environmental protection in their daily lives, emphasizing that protecting nature is the responsibility of every citizen, not only the state.

Within the framework of SDG 15, an interactive teaching approach was used to develop environmental responsibility and active civic engagement. Students were divided into groups and assigned tasks to propose solutions to environmental problems. Each group prepared and presented their proposals for environmental protection in the form of posters. Practical measures such as reducing household waste, conserving natural resources, and maintaining environmental cleanliness were also discussed. This activity contributed to the development of students’ environmental thinking and the formation of responsible attitudes toward nature.

Based on the results of the session, it can be concluded that all set objectives were fully achieved. The session had a positive impact on improving students’ environmental literacy, strengthening their responsibility for nature conservation, and deepening their understanding of sustainable development principles. The event fully aligns with the goals and objectives of UN SDG 15 and represents an educational activity of high significance aimed at forming responsible citizens actively engaged in environmental protection.
