46th Meeting of the Berlin Eurasian Club

On April 23, 2026, the 46th meeting of the Berlin Eurasian Club was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the theme “Achieving Sustainable Development Together: Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany for a Green Future.”

G.A. Mukanova, Associate Professor of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of 91ý Kazakh National University, took part in the event.

During the meeting, key issues related to sustainable development, climate change, and environmental security were extensively discussed. The program included two main panel sessions.


The first panel discussion, titled “Agriculture and Water Resources: The Basis of Food Security and Climate Resilience,” addressed issues of efficient water resource management (SDG 6), sustainable development of the agricultural sector, climate change adaptation (SDG 13), and ensuring food security (SDG 2).

The second panel discussion, “Climate and Ecology as a Factor of Regional Security: Green Central Asia in Action,” focused on climate policy, environmental sustainability in Central Asia, transboundary water issues, as well as the role of green technologies and international cooperation (SDG 17).

The event concluded with a signing ceremony of several cooperation agreements in the fields of ecology, water resources, and green technologies.

This meeting of the Berlin Eurasian Club served as an important dialogue platform aimed at strengthening partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany in the field of sustainable development and addressing regional environmental challenges jointly.
