The relationship between theory and practice is a fundamental principle of modern education, ensuring not only deep assimilation of academic knowledge but also the development of real professional competencies that are critically important for the IT industry. A harmonious combination of fundamental knowledge with applied tasks enables future developers to effectively adapt to the dynamic demands of the labour market and successfully solve complex technical challenges. Understanding this interconnection helps students approach the learning process consciously, perceiving each theoretical module as a practical tool for achieving concrete results.
As part of career guidance work with third-year students of the " Highly Loaded Information Systems with Artificial Intelligence" specialty, a thematic curatorial hour was held. The event aimed to help learners develop a holistic understanding of how academic disciplines transform into practical skills demanded by the market.
During the session, key aspects of integrating theoretical training with real-world professional activity were examined in detail. Relevant industry case studies were analyzed, clearly demonstrating how knowledge of algorithms, database design, and modern testing methods is applied in software product development. Special attention was given to the role of student projects, industrial internships, and participation in professional hackathons. In an interactive format, participants analyzed typical mistakes arising from insufficient fundamental preparation and jointly formulated strategies for preventing them. Issues related to building a digital portfolio and selecting specialized internships were also discussed separately.
Based on the session outcomes, participants noted that the conscious integration of theory with practice significantly strengthens self-confidence and accelerates professional adaptation.
