Open Curatorial Event on “Development of Ecotourism in the Ile-Alatau National Park”
An open curatorial event titled “Development of Ecotourism in the Ile-Alatau National Park” was organized for first-year students of the Tourism educational program at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism. The event was conducted within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 15 – Life on Land.
The event was organized by first-year master’s students of the Tourism educational program – Yerbolat Orazbaiyev and Sanzhar Shayakhmetov – as part of their pedagogical practice.
During the event, students were introduced to modern trends in ecotourism, the role of tourism in preserving natural ecosystems, and the importance of biodiversity protection. Issues related to the implementation of international environmental standards, reducing anthropogenic pressure on natural areas, and the use of innovative management systems for sustainable tourism were also discussed.
To strengthen theoretical knowledge, an educational lecture was held at the Ayusai Visit Center, followed by an educational ecological hike to the Ayusai Waterfall. During the visit, participants became familiar with the landscape features of the national park, the principles of establishing ecological trails, and modern technological solutions for nature conservation.
The event contributed to increasing students’ professional interest and provided a better understanding of the importance of environmental preservation for future tourism specialists.
The event was organized at a high level under the guidance of the Head of the Department, PhD Baiburiev R.M., faculty members — Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Aliyeva Zh.N., Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Abdreeva Sh.T., Candidate of Geographical Sciences Koshkimbaeva U.T., and the supervisor of pedagogical practice — Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management Bayarystanova E.T. The event served as a meaningful and educational practical experience for students.
