A curatorial hour titled «Economic Education and Financial Sustainability: A Scientific Analysis for Youth» was held for second-year students of the «International Journalism» and «Public Relations» programs. The event supported SDG-8. Decent Work and Economic Growth.
During the session, students learned from A.V. Rozhkov, Candidate of Philological Sciences and curator of the UNESCO Chair in Journalism and Communication, how rapidly the labor market is changing and why financial literacy is becoming an essential skill for young people.
Special attention was given to real-life examples of successful use of fintech skills, including Kaspi Bank, Halyk Bank, Kolesa Group and MEGA, where graduates of al-Farabi Kazakh National University are employed. These examples were provided by the students themselves.
As a result, the undergraduate students once again realized that in today’s conditions not only basic professional skills are important, but also the ability to build their future based on solid economic knowledge.
