On April 23, 2026, a tutorial session on the topic “International Experience in Achieving Gender Equality and Social Policy in Kazakhstan” was held at the Faculty of International Relations of 91ý Kazakh National University.
The event was organized by master’s students of the International Relations program – Aiganym Amangazina, Nadiya Nurkanat, Dana Ospanova, and Amina Shyryntay – within the framework of their teaching practice, under the supervision of L.T. Issova and A.T. Kulbayeva, with the support of the department.
The program combined both theoretical and interactive formats. During the session, the content and significance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 – Gender Equality – were examined. In addition, the formation of gender policy at the international level, its historical development, and current trends were analyzed.
As part of the session, international analytical and media materials on gender equality were presented. These materials highlighted the progress achieved in gender policy over recent decades, as well as diverse perspectives on gender roles and equality in society. This approach allowed participants to consider the topic within a broader context and engage in critical reflection.

The practical part included an open discussion, during which students were encouraged to express their views on gender equality. Guiding questions were used to explore participants’ perspectives and deepen their understanding of the topic. This format contributed to the development of critical thinking and a more comprehensive analysis of the issue.
