Achievements of modern physics presented to KazNU
The X International Scientific Conference "Achievements of Modern Physics and fundamental Physics Education" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Academician Tolegen Kozhamkulov and the 40th anniversary of his defense of the first doctoral thesis in the USSR on lattice quantum chromodynamics.
At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, congratulated the Hero of the day and highlighted his contribution to the development of national science: "Your name is closely linked to the development of national science. As a Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences and a prominent scientist, you have left an invaluable scientific legacy to future generations. As the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, support for science and public respect for scientists is primarily the affirmation of the values of hard work, striving for knowledge and creativity in society. Your work is a vivid embodiment of these values",- the Minister said.

Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev in his speech highlighted the academician's work in the field of science and education: "Tolegen Abdisagievich is not only a great scientist, but also a qualified leader, a visionary organizer. Heading the university in 2001-2008, he made a huge contribution to raising the quality of education and scientific potential to a new level. On the initiative of the scientist, the Scientific Research Institute of Experimental and Theoretical Physics was established at KazNU, which opened the way to the interaction of science and education. The Kazakhstan Physical Society, created with his participation, has also become an important organization aimed at uniting the country's scientific community and supporting young researchers",- said the head of the university.

During the event, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KazNU Kairat Mami, deputy of the Senate Sultanbek Makezhanov, as well as other public and government figures, scientists spoke and shared their opinions.
