Unity of Turkic Peoples and Work Culture: A Ceremonial Round Table at 91ý Kazakh National University
On April 28, 2026, a large-scale event dedicated to the significant holiday — May 1, the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan — was held at 91ý Kazakh National University. The event, titled “Unity of Turkic Peoples and Work Culture,” took place at the Faculty of History in the format of an open round table and became an important scientific and cultural occasion in the university’s life.
The main objective of the event was to provide a deeper understanding of the rich historical roots, cultural heritage, and social connections of the Turkic world, as well as to explore the concept of “work culture” within Turkic traditions and its relevance in contemporary society.
Contribution of organizers and participants
The event was organized by Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of History Terekbayeva Zh.M. and Deputy Dean for Social and Educational Affairs of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science Ayazbayeva B.B. Their initiative successfully brought together representatives of different faculties, demonstrating strong interdisciplinary cooperation.
The round table was attended by faculty members, master’s students, PhD candidates, and active undergraduate students.
Key discussion topics
During the discussions, particular attention was paid to the historical unity and shared spiritual values of Turkic peoples. Participants emphasized that in Turkic civilization, labor is not merely an economic necessity but a fundamental moral and ethical value. Diligence has traditionally been regarded as a virtue, while laziness has been socially discouraged.
The issue of preserving unity in the Turkic world in the context of globalization was also widely discussed. Students presented analyses of modern integration processes and highlighted new forms of cultural interaction, including digital formats. According to participants, the future of the Turkic world should be built upon education, productive work, and a shared historical identity.
The open format of the round table allowed participants to freely express their ideas, present arguments, and develop a culture of academic dialogue.
Youth focus and conclusions
Special emphasis was placed on the relevance of work culture in modern society. Discussions focused on fostering responsibility among young people, encouraging professional growth, and promoting quality education. It was concluded that work is the foundation of personal development, while serving society is a fundamental civic duty.
At the end of the event, participants adopted a resolution emphasizing the importance of preserving the historical roots and labor values of Turkic peoples for future generations. It was also proposed to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
This round table became an important platform for strengthening mutual respect and cooperation among university youth, as well as a strong impulse for developing a shared Turkic identity in the modern world. The event was recognized not only as a commemorative gathering but also as an intellectual step toward building a unified Turkic future.
