Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 “Quality Education,” an Open Day was held on April 30, 2026, at the Faculty of Philology of Әл-Фараби атындағы Қазақ ұлттық университеті. The event was attended by students from Gymnasium No. 15, School-Gymnasium No. 145, School-Gymnasium No. 174, Republican Abai National School and School-Lyceum No. 207 of Almaty, who were introduced to the faculty’s educational opportunities.

The main purpose of the event was to familiarize school graduates with philological specialties, provide career guidance, and help prospective students make informed decisions about their future professions.

The opening speech was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Philology, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bayan Omirbekovna Zholdasbekova. In her speech, she highlighted the faculty’s strong academic and research potential and emphasized the importance of obtaining a high-quality education to become competitive professionals.

During the event, the faculty’s leading departments—Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, A. Baitursynov Kazakh Linguistics, Russian Philology and World Literature, Turkology and Language Theory, as well as Foreign Philology and Translation Studies—presented detailed information about their academic programs. Participants received comprehensive insights into the educational process, program specifics, and student life.

Interactive games were also organized, with students actively participating. The winners were awarded souvenirs featuring the university’s logo.

The event provided an opportunity for prospective students to communicate directly with faculty members and receive answers to their questions. Such events help increase young people’s interest in higher education and support them in shaping their future career paths.
