Achievements in Science and Technology: Lecture and Laboratory Tour for High School Students
The Faculty of Physics and Technology of 91ý Kazakh National University organized an educational event for 125high school students on the topic “Achievements in Science and Technology.” The purpose of the event was to introduce students to current trends in modern science and technology, increase their interest in natural sciences, and support their professional orientation through exposure to university-level research.
During the meeting, university lecturers delivered a lecture on recent achievements in science and technology, applied areas of physics, engineering technologies, and the role of scientific research in the development of society. Special attention was given to physics of plasma , nanotechnology, electric power and engineering.
As part of the event, the students also took part in a guided tour of the faculty’s research laboratories. They visited the laboratories of Samsung, Plasma Technologies, Nanotechnology, Electricity and Magnetism, and Atomic Physics. During the tour, students were introduced to laboratory equipment, measuring instruments, experimental research methods, and the main areas of ongoing scientific projects.

The participants learned about the physical principles underlying the experiments conducted in the laboratories and had the opportunity to ask questions to university lecturers and young researchers. Such events help broaden students’ scientific outlook and stimulate their interest in physics, engineering, nanotechnology, and modern technological fields. We express our sincere gratitude to the organizers of the meeting with students — lecturers A.U. Amrenova, Zh. Igibayev, as well as school teachers Turar Abzhaliluly and Dana Bekzatova.
The meeting contributed to strengthening cooperation between the university and schools, while also familiarizing future applicants with the faculty’s educational programs and scientific infrastructure. The event became an important step in promoting science among high school students.
