On April 29, a science outreach event titled “From Lyceum to Big Science” was held at Specialized Lyceum No. 92 in Almaty. The event was attended by faculty members of the Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology, and Computer Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Technology: Professor M.K. Dosbolayev, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; Associate Professor G.L. Gabdullina, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; Deputy Head of Department, PhD A.I. Kenzhebekova; PhD R. Zhumadilov, as well as senior school students.
The main goal of the event was to increase students’ interest in science, introduce them to modern scientific fields, and provide information about higher education opportunities. The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of such meetings in shaping students’ future career choices.
During the next session, professors and young scientists from 91ý Kazakh National University were introduced and shared insights into their research areas. The speakers discussed current challenges and recent advances in plasma physics, nanotechnology, and computer modeling, highlighting the role of physics in modern society. Students were also provided with detailed information about university programs, scholarship opportunities, and the specifics of the educational process.

An important part of the event was the presentation of students’ scientific projects. Young researchers introduced their projects “Smart Helmet” and “Smart Greenhouse,” presenting their research results. Feedback and recommendations from the scientists contributed to the development of students’ research skills.
The event aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Such initiatives strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and contribute to the development of the scientific potential of the younger generation.
