An event titled “Welcome, Az-Nauryz!” was held at KazNU
In accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-3), on April 21, 2026, at 91ý Kazakh National University, a 1st-year master’s student of the 7M01504 – “Biology” educational program, Duisenbek U.K., organized an event titled “Welcome, Az-Nauryz!” for 3rd-year students of the 6B05102 – “Biology” educational program. The event was conducted under the supervision of senior lecturer A.N. Kozhakhmetova and Associate Professor Zh.M. Basygaraev, Deputy Head of the Department for Academic, Methodological, and Educational Work at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine, and Neuroscience.
The event was organized with the aim of promoting national values, popularizing the traditions and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, and fostering the spiritual and moral development of students.
During the event, several educational activities were carried out. A class session on the topic “Welcome, Az-Nauryz!” was held among 3rd-year students. The purpose of the session was to explain the historical significance of the Nauryz holiday, to cultivate respect for national traditions, and to promote unity and harmony.
During the session, students were provided with information about the origin of the Nauryz holiday, its connection with nature, and its symbolism of renewal and rebirth associated with the arrival of spring. In addition, detailed information was given about national dishes, particularly the importance of Nauryz kozhe, as well as Kazakh traditions and national games.
As part of the event, traditional Kazakh kuy music was performed, introducing students to the art of instrumental music. The national game “asyk atu” was also organized, where participants actively demonstrated agility and accuracy. Students performed traditional songs, staged theatrical performances, and created a festive atmosphere.
Furthermore, special attention was paid to strengthening mutual respect, unity, and cooperation within the group.
In conclusion, the educational session increased students’ interest in national culture, enriched their spiritual values, and contributed to the development of a healthy and harmonious society.

As a result of the educational session, students gained a deep understanding of the essence and content of the Nauryz holiday, the characteristics of national traditions, and their educational significance. In addition, a theatrical performance prepared by students was presented, showcasing elements of national culture.
During the event, traditional kuy music was performed and the national game “asyk atu” was organized, which increased students’ interest in national art and games and enhanced their activity.

As a result, students realized the importance of respecting national values, preserving them, and passing them on to future generations. They also understood the significance of mutual respect, unity, and the promotion of national culture.

Overall, the event had a positive educational impact: students developed an understanding of the importance of respecting and promoting national values and traditions, and their interest in national culture increased. The session contributed to creating an active and positive atmosphere within the student group and to the development of spiritual and moral culture.
