KazNU AI projects presented to the Assistant to the President

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was visited by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev and Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova, who got acquainted with the progress of work in the field of artificial intelligence and information technology.

 

At a meeting with Chairman of the Board Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, the parties discussed issues of integrating science and production, introducing advanced technologies into the educational process and accelerating digital transformation, expressing readiness to support joint initiatives.

The Assistant to the President was provided with detailed information about the activities of the newly opened Industrial and Research Center for the High-altitude Economy of Kazakhstan. Digital solutions are being developed here, artificial intelligence technologies are being introduced into the production sector, as well as comprehensive scientific research of an industrial nature. In addition, the center allows to improve the professional skills of students and young professionals, to involve them in specific production projects. This, in turn, has a positive effect on the training of competitive personnel.

In addition, Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev got acquainted with the technological capabilities of the Quantum AI laboratory, the Cybersecurity Center and the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

The Assistant to the Head of State gave a positive assessment to the developments of the university staff, stressing that the development of digital technologies and the field of AI is a strategic priority of the country. He emphasized that building up the research potential of universities is the key not only to training qualified personnel, but also to strengthening the digital sovereignty of the state.
