“NEW DIRECTIONS IN CONTEMPORARY POLITICAL SCIENCE” International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scholars “FARABI ALEMI 2026”

The opening ceremony of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scholars “Farabi Alemi – 2026” was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of 91ý Kazakh National University.

The ceremony was attended by the faculty administration, academic staff, and invited guests. In his welcoming speech, Dean B.B. Meyrbayev emphasized the importance of the conference as a platform for developing the scientific potential of young people and fostering the exchange of ideas.

The conference began with the session of the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies titled “New Directions in Contemporary Political Science.” The session was chaired by A.I. Begimtayev. The committee members included S.Sh. Musatayev, L.M. Kim, and M.M. Buzurtanova. The session moderator was A.A. Abzhapparova.

During the session, presentations by students and master’s degree candidates were delivered, generating active discussion and strong interest from the audience. The participants demonstrated a high level of academic preparation and the relevance of their research topics.

A total of 33 presentations were submitted to the section.

Based on the results of the section “New Directions in Contemporary Political Science” held the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scholars “Farabi Alemi”, the following participants were awarded:

1st Place Diploma:

·         Serik Adil Bauyrzhanuly (7M03108 – Conflictology, 2nd year).
Academic supervisor: B.K. Rakhimbekova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Lecturer.
Topic: “Advantages and Weaknesses of Oil Industry Infrastructure in Kazakhstan.”

2nd Place Diploma:

·         Torebek Alnur Kuanishbekuly (7M03108 – Conflictology, 1st year).
Academic supervisor: G.G. Ismukhanova, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Research Professor.
Topic: “A Value-Based Approach to the Analysis of Strategic Development Documents of Kazakhstan: The Case of the ‘Kazakhstan-2030’ Program.”

·         Asafova Venera Valerievna (4th year student, specialty “6B03106 – Political Science”).
Academic supervisor: N.A. Saitova, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies.

Topic: “Parameters of Petitions and the Probability of Their Conversion into Political Decisions in Kazakhstan.”

3rd Place Diploma:

·         Sorokina Arina Vitalyevna (3rd year student, specialty “6B03106 – Political Science”).
Academic supervisor: L.Yu. Zayniyeva, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor.
Topic: “Priority Areas of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and BRICS+.”

·         Aubakirova Zhanya Mukhametzhanovna (4th year student, specialty “6B03106 – Political Science”).
Academic supervisor: G.G. Ismukhanova, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Research Professor.
Topic: “The Value Structure of Political Discourse: The Case of ‘New Kazakhstan’.”

·         Sisenberdiyeva Aidana Erlankyzy (7M03108 – Conflictology, 2nd year).
Academic supervisor: PhD, Professor Abel Polese.
Topic: “Contemporary Women’s Protests: Global Trends and Mobilization Mechanisms (A Comparative Analysis of Cases: Iran, USA, South Africa).”
