KazNU has opened a new digital laboratory
The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the opening of a Laboratory for digital Innovative Solutions within the framework of the international Green Tech Horizons Erasmus+ project. The new laboratory has started working at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence and will become a platform for the development and implementation of modern digital solutions aimed at supporting sustainable development, environmental initiatives and innovative education.
The Green Tech Horizons project is implemented under the Erasmus+ program and is focused on facilitating the dual transition to a green and digital economy through education, research and international cooperation in the countries of Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Asia. The laboratory's activities will be aimed at developing interdisciplinary research, training specialists in the field of digital technologies and sustainable development, as well as creating innovative solutions in the field of GreenTech.

Alina Galeeva, Member of the Board and Vice–Rector for Academic Affairs of KazNU, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. In her speech, the Vice-rector noted that today universities are becoming not only training centers, but also platforms for the formation of new solutions in the field of sustainable development and digitalization. The opening of the GreenTech Horizons laboratory will allow students and researchers to participate in international projects, develop practical competencies and create innovative initiatives that meet the global challenges of our time, as well as work on projects in the field of artificial intelligence, digitalization of environmental processes, data analysis, sustainable technologies and Smart City solutions.

The event was also attended by Maria Sol Dominguez Parrado, Project Officer of the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), expert of the monitoring group of projects on "Enhancing the potential of higher Education" in Central Asia. The Project Officer noted that universities in Central Asia are actively developing initiatives aimed at combining digital technologies, sustainable development and international cooperation. In her opinion, such laboratories contribute to strengthening scientific cooperation, knowledge exchange and training of a new generation of specialists capable of developing innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Amir Mosavi, a visiting professor at the University of Obuda (Hungary), also delivered a congratulatory speech.

At the end of the event, a campus tour was organized, where the guests got acquainted with the scientific and innovative activities of the university.
