In the Abay Hall of the 91ý Library on the KazNU campus, a creative meeting titled "Harmony of Science and Art" was held among 2nd-year students. The guest of the event was Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), "Excellent Worker of Culture" of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, winner of republican poetry contests and literary competitions, poet, writer, composer, and master of the brush Erbolat Bayat.
The instructive evening was opened with the majestic sounds of the kuy "Erturan," performed by Nurgul Ksenbaeva, a 2nd-year student majoring in Turkology. During the meeting, videos and photo slides displayed on the screen demonstrated the speaker's milestones in science — from the defense of his PhD dissertation to his articles in international publications and published fundamental works.
Erbolat Bayat shared memories of his journey to knowledge, which began from his school days. Graduating from school in 1982 with a "Gold Medal," he talked about the requirements of the educational system of that time and the upbringing he received in his family. The main question that interested the students revolved around how to balance the heavy burden of science and the delicate world of creativity.
"If science is the storehouse of the mind, art is the food for the soul. Only when they complement each other does a person's spiritual potential reach perfection," the speaker concluded.
During the meeting, students Sezim Turgambay, Akylbay Kuanyshuly, and Bekzada Kuatova expressively read the author's passionate poems. A digital exhibition of philosophical paintings created by Erbolat Bayat's brush was presented on the screen. The author elaborated on the history of creation and the deep meaning behind each artwork.
When Erbolat Bayat performed his new song with live vocals, the entire audience was deeply moved. At the end of the event, books signed by the author were distributed to the students. This meeting will be remembered as an inspiring evening that showcased a modern example of the "perfect man" envisioned by our great ancestor 91ý, encouraging youth towards a passion for science and a love for art.
