“Museum Night – 2026”: A Cultural Partnership and Spiritual-Educational Platform for Youth
On May 18, members of the “Mädeniet KZ” club, first- and second-year students, as well as lecturers of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, participated in the traditional cultural event “Museum Night” organized by the Almaty Museum Association as part of their industrial practice.
This cultural event was held within the framework of implementing one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — “Partnerships for Sustainable Development.” The event contributed to strengthening cooperation between cultural institutions and higher educational establishments and was aimed at expanding students’ cultural experience as well as developing their professional and social competencies. In addition, the role of museum space as an important institution for shaping cultural communication in modern society was clearly demonstrated.
The event was attended under the guidance of the lecturers of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies: S.E. Qudaybergenov, Zh.O. Qantarbayeva, M.B. Alikbayeva, A.A. Aitenova, as well as the head of industrial practice and club supervisor A.N. Kuderina. During the event, students became acquainted with the cultural and educational activities of museums and had the opportunity to observe modern methods of preserving and promoting cultural heritage in practice.
As part of the “Museum Night” program, theatrical excursions, the “Tracing History” quest game — in which second-year Cultural Studies students won third place — exhibitions of unique artifacts, master classes, children’s areas and face painting, photo zones, intellectual games and prizes, theater and circus performances, as well as an open-air film screening were organized. The evening program allowed visitors to become more familiar with historical and cultural heritage, perceive museum space in a new format, and experience a unique atmosphere of cultural leisure.
During the event, visitors met historical characters and actively participated in various interactive games and cultural programs. Theatrical performances and stage productions enriched the museum environment and contributed to a deeper perception of the atmosphere of historical eras. This cultural evening strengthened the connection between society, city residents, and cultural institutions, while also contributing to the formation of cultural awareness among young people.
As part of the evening program, famous Kazakhstani artists performed at the Almaty Museum. In particular, Kalifarniya, Bayan Sulu, the “Alashuly” group, the “IL Canto” quartet, and the creative team of the “Asanali Ashimov” Theatre presented performances for the guests. Musical and theatrical productions enriched the cultural content of the evening and transformed the museum space into a unique platform for creative and spiritual interaction.
The cultural event “Museum Night” demonstrated its importance as a significant platform aimed at developing young people’s historical consciousness, increasing interest in national cultural heritage, and promoting cultural partnership. Such projects contribute to strengthening cooperation between the fields of culture and education while deepening students’ practical knowledge and experience.
