91��ý Kazakh National University continues the development of the “Ecoinformatics” educational programme within the Erasmus+ MECAS international project.

The working meeting, held on 15 May 2026, took place with the participation of representatives of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences under the leadership of Bazarbayeva Tursynkul Amankeldiyevna at the premises of ECOSERVICE-S LLP.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development of the new “Ecoinformatics” educational programme, designed to meet the current demands of the labour market and the ongoing digital transformation in the environmental sector.

Representatives of “Ecoservice” participated as key stakeholders and shared their practical experience in environmental monitoring, data processing, and analysis. Special attention was given to the competencies expected from future graduates, including environmental data handling, digital analysis skills, GIS technologies, and the application of modern IT tools in solving environmental challenges.

In addition, participants were given a tour of the company’s laboratories, where they were introduced to technical equipment, ongoing projects, and key areas of activity.

Such collaboration between the university and industry partners contributes to improving the quality of educational programmes, strengthening their practical orientation, and ensuring alignment with labour market requirements.

As a result of the meeting, directions for further cooperation were identified, aimed at enhancing the “Ecoinformatics” programme and training highly qualified specialists in digital ecology.
