Reviewed innovations in the field of chemistry
The XII International Scientific and practical conference "Chemical Technologies of Functional Materials" was held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was attended by leading scientists, researchers and young specialists from Kazakhstan, Russia and other foreign countries.
The conference was organized jointly by the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Novosibirsk State Technical University and the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

During the opening ceremony, the heads of the leading scientific schools addressed the participants. Alexander Nemudry, Director of IHTTM SB RAS, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in his welcoming speech emphasized the importance of combining the efforts of scientists from the two countries to solve fundamental problems of materials science and noted the high potential of joint technological developments.

In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Associate Professor Moldyr Dyusebayeva emphasized the importance of training qualified personnel and noted that the annual conference had become an effective platform for exchanging unique research experience and strengthening professional ties between our countries.
The head of the department, Professor Yermek Aubakirov, in his speech, noted the importance of further developing joint scientific research by scientists from Russia and Kazakhstan, intensifying work on the preparation and submission of international scientific projects, expanding cooperation in publishing research results in international scientific publications, actively involving young scientists, undergraduates and doctoral students in research activities, as well as strengthening scientific ties between universities, research centers and industrial enterprises.

The program of the event covered key vectors of modern science: synthesis and modification of functional materials, catalytic processes in petrochemistry, development of green technologies and environmental aspects of chemical production. The organizing committee has received about 100 abstracts demonstrating the best practices of the international scientific community.

In addition to the plenary and breakout sessions, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the scientific and research infrastructure of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the work of its laboratories and innovation centers.
