Free course “Legal Literacy for All” for senior citizens (50+)

The Faculty of Law of 91ý Kazakh National University, in cooperation with the Institute for Advanced Training and Continuing Education, is implementing the free course “Legal Literacy for All” for senior citizens (50+) within the framework of the “Silver University” program.

The course is aimed at enhancing the level of legal literacy and social awareness among older citizens, as well as developing practical skills for the application of legislation in everyday life.

The course was developed by R. Ye. Sagalbayeva, Candidate of Legal Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law at 91ý Kazakh National University.

The curriculum covers the most relevant legal issues, including:
▪️ constitutional rights and duties of citizens;
▪️ social protection and pension provision;
▪️ housing rights and public utility issues;
▪️ consumer rights protection;
▪️ family, inheritance, and labor legal relations;
▪️ procedures for обращения to state authorities;
▪️ fundamentals of financial literacy and fraud prevention.

Particular emphasis is placed on the practical training of participants. Attendees acquire skills in drafting applications, petitions, and claims, using electronic public services, and applying mechanisms for the protection of their rights and legitimate interests.

The project is aimed at strengthening the legal independence of older citizens, increasing their social engagement, and creating conditions for their successful adaptation to contemporary legal and digital realities.
