19.05.2026  at 91ý Kazakh National University, a round table discussion titled “Better Safe Than Sorry” was organized for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare with the aim of improving financial literacy and promoting a culture of financial security among young people. The event was conducted by senior lecturer of the Department of Nursing, Merey Adilkyzy. During the meeting, students discussed in detail the dangers of financial pyramids, the psychological manipulation methods used by fraudsters, and effective ways to prevent financial scams. Participants actively exchanged opinions and received valuable information on protecting their financial well-being.

Particular attention during the round table was paid to identifying the main signs of financial pyramid schemes. Among the key warning signs discussed were promises of extremely high profits within a short period, the absence of real products or services, income generation through recruiting new participants, and the lack of official documents or licenses. In addition, students were advised to remain cautious about suspicious investment projects promoted through social media and messaging platforms, to carefully verify any financial offers, and to rely only on official and trustworthy sources of information.

At the end of the event, students emphasized the importance of financial literacy in modern society and noted the value of such educational meetings for young people. Merey Adilkyzy highlighted the importance of responsible financial decision-making and the development of critical thinking skills among students. The round table was held in an open discussion format and became a meaningful platform aimed at enhancing the legal and financial awareness of students.
