“International Summer School – 2026: Creative Economy in the Era of Industry 4.0 and Sustainable Development”
Within the framework of the International Summer School – 2026 titled “Sustainable Development and ESG: Global Challenges, National Priorities, Effective Solutions,” organized by the Department of Economics of the Higher School of Economics and Business at 91ý Kazakh National University, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics, PhD Shynggys Nurgazy delivered a lecture on the topic “Creative Economy in the Era of Industry 4.0.”
During the lecture, current trends in the development of the creative economy in the context of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation were discussed, as well as the role of human capital, innovation, and creative industries in ensuring sustainable development. Special attention was paid to the fact that today the competitiveness of countries is determined not only by natural resources, but also by the results of human creativity — technologies, brands, cinema, design, culture, and innovation.
Examples of countries such as France, Germany, and South Korea were presented to demonstrate how creative industries contribute to building a strong international image and sustainable economic growth. The speaker emphasized that successful economies increasingly rely on intellectual and creative potential rather than solely on raw materials and natural resources.
Particular attention was also given to Kazakhstan’s future opportunities in developing a sustainable and knowledge-based economy. According to the speaker, the development of creative industries can become one of the key drivers of economic diversification, innovation, youth employment, and international competitiveness.
The lecture generated significant interest among participants of the summer school and became an important platform for discussing sustainable development, ESG priorities, and the role of creativity and innovation in shaping the economy of the future.
