KazNU Representative Delivered a Presentation at an International Conference in Samarkand

On May 25, 2026, Shynggys Nurgazy, PhD, Deputy Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations of the Higher School of Economics and Business and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics at 91ý Kazakh National University, participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Modern Mechanisms of Sustainable Development and Green Transformation”, organized by the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service. 

As part of the plenary session, Shynggys Nurgazy delivered a presentation on “Creative Economy for Sustainable Development”, highlighting the role of the creative economy in achieving sustainable development goals and fostering a competitive economy of the future. 

During his presentation, he emphasized that in the era of digital transformation and the knowledge economy, creative industries are becoming key drivers of sustainable growth. Particular attention was given to the contribution of human capital, innovation, culture, and digital technologies to creating new sources of economic value, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing the international competitiveness of nations.

The presentation also explored successful international experiences in the development of creative industries and discussed opportunities for their adaptation in Central Asian countries. The speaker noted that long-term economic sustainability today depends not only on natural resources but also on a country's ability to generate ideas, develop innovative products, and effectively utilize its intellectual and creative potential.

The conference brought together scholars, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and other countries to discuss current issues related to sustainable development, green transformation, digitalization, and innovation-driven growth. Participation in such international academic events contributes to strengthening scientific cooperation, promoting the exchange of best practices, and expanding international partnerships between universities and research institutions.
