Humanity in the Age of AI: A Convergence of Perspectives
The round table held on March 27 at the Nur-Mubarak Egypt University of Islamic Culture went far beyond the boundaries of formal reports, transforming into a genuine arena for intellectual discussion. The event was attended by Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor Tursyn Khafizuly Gabitov, alongside leading domestic scholars, PhDs, lecturers, and students.
This was not merely a lecture, but a multi-layered scientific dialogue. Participants worked in a focus-group format, exchanging views based on pressing questions and current realities rather than pre-packaged, rigid positions.
In his speech, Professor Gabitov raised the issue of the transformation of anthropocentrism in the era of AI, noting that the boundaries between humans and technology are becoming increasingly blurred. However, it was precisely at this juncture that the main debate sparked.
A wide spectrum of perspectives emerged during the discussion:
One group of researchers argued that AI is displacing humans from the center, giving rise to a new "technocentrism";
Others counter-argued that technology remains solely a tool designed to expand human capabilities.
The theme of digital culture also triggered an intense debate. Scholars offered contrasting answers to the question of whether national identity weakens under the pressure of digitalization, or if it reconstructs itself into a new form.
The projects presented in a team-building poster format were not just ordinary presentations, but mini-scientific insights backed by empirical research findings. These participants engaged in the discussion on an equal footing, at times even shifting the direction of the discourse.
Professors, young scientists, and students exchanged ideas as peers. As a result, the event transcended the classical academic format, becoming a vibrant manifestation of living scientific thought.
Such gatherings clearly demonstrate that contemporary philosophical thought is evolving not merely in theory, but in active progression alongside society.
