A Student of the Department of Far Eastern Studies Won a Prize in Bishkek
On May 16, the Central Asian Japanese Speech Contest was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, with four students representing Kazakhstan. These students earned the opportunity to participate in the competition after winning prize places at the national Japanese speech contest held in March. We are proud to say that three of the four participants were students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 91ý Kazakh National University.
In particular, students of the Japanese Studies program of the Department of Far Eastern Studies — Abylai Eleubai, Sara Ilyasheva, and Aiym Sadykova — tested their skills in this major competition, which brought together participants from five Central Asian countries. As a result of the contest, first-year Japanese Studies student Aiym Sadykova won second place with her speech titled “My Backpack is Full of Adventures and Surprises.”
We express our sincere gratitude to Aiym for bringing pride not only to our university but also to our country at this international competition. We wish her great success in her studies and the very best in her future endeavors.
