Working meeting held on the digitalisation project for the Imantau-Shalkar resort zone

An online working meeting was held as part of the implementation of the research project AP23490620 "Implementation of Sustainable Tourism Development Management in the Imantau-Shalkar Resort Zone Based on the Application of Smart Technologies", funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting brought together representatives of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of 91ý Kazakh National University, JSC "NC "Kazakh Tourism" — the project's consortium partner — and the IT company engaged to handle the technical implementation of the digital products.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the key tasks of the project's current stage: creating a database of the developed 3D tourist routes, developing a system of digital labels with QR codes for the tourist sites of the resort zone, and preparing an audio guide for visitors. Particular attention was given to the structure of the future digital platform, the format for storing geospatial data, the integration of the previously developed 3D routes, and the division of areas of responsibility among the project participants.

The participants agreed on approaches to further joint work and outlined a plan for the practical implementation of digital solutions that will enhance the tourist appeal of the Imantau-Shalkar resort zone and ensure the sustainable development of the territory based on modern smart technologies.

The project directly contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 11 "Sustainable Cities and Communities", SDG 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production", and SDG 15 "Life on Land", ensuring a balance between tourism development and the preservation of the territory's natural heritage.
