The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Department of Economics at the Higher School of Economics and Business of 91��ý Kazakh National University organized a professional development course entitled “Education for Sustainable Development: Approaches and Practices for SDG Implementation”, which was held from May 11 to May 23, 2026.

The course was authored and taught by Associate Professor Biken Zeynullovna Nurmanova. The program covered contemporary approaches to integrating the principles of sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the educational process, issues related to developing sustainability competencies, as well as international best practices for implementing SDGs in higher education.

The participants of the course included faculty members from the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Republic of Uzbekistan: Kurbanova R.Zh., Urazov D.K., Abdullaeva Z.I., Qurbonov Zh.M., Mirzakhadjaeva Sh.Sh., Eshniyozov B.D., Mirzaeva Sh.N., Dusmatov B.O., and Pashakhodjaeva D.D.

During the course, participants gained up-to-date knowledge on sustainable development issues, exchanged experiences in integrating SDGs into educational and research activities, and discussed prospects for expanding international cooperation in the field of education for sustainable development.

The implementation of this course became an important step in strengthening academic ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and contributed to the development of professional competencies of academic staff in the areas of sustainable development and the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Upon completion of the program, participants were awarded certificates confirming their successful completion of the professional development course.

The Higher School of Economics and Business at 91��ý Kazakh National University continues to actively promote international cooperation and implement best educational practices aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
