Associate Professor Ni Mingliang of Beijing Language and Culture University Delivered a Lecture at 91ý Kazakh National University
On June 23, 2026, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 91ý Kazakh National University hosted an academic lecture organized by the Department of Chinese Studies. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Ni Mingliang, Associate Professor at the Institute of International Chinese Language of Beijing Language and Culture University.
The event brought together faculty members of the Department of Chinese Studies. The lecture focused on modern methodologies for teaching Chinese as an international language, international experience in Chinese language education, approaches to promoting Chinese culture, and current priorities in educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. Associate Professor Ni Mingliang shared his professional experience and provided comprehensive answers to the participants’ questions.
The meeting was of particular historical significance. Professor Ni Mingliang noted that in 1984 he taught Chinese writing to the current President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev, while the latter was studying at Beijing Language and Culture University. This fact reflects the long-standing educational, cultural, and people-to-people ties between Kazakhstan and China.
The lecture also highlighted the history of humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, the importance of high-quality Chinese language education, and opportunities to further strengthen academic and research collaboration between higher education institutions in the two countries. Participants exchanged views on the prospects for developing joint research projects and expanding academic mobility programs.
At the conclusion of the event, the faculty members of the Department of Chinese Studies expressed their sincere appreciation to Associate Professor Ni Mingliang for his informative lecture, emphasizing that such academic exchanges contribute significantly to the professional development of Kazakh specialists in Chinese studies and to the continued strengthening of educational and scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
