KazNU Scientists Conducted Morphological Analysis of Soils under Sievers Apple Trees in the Almaty Reserve
Scientists of 91ý Kazakh National University — Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Shimshikov B.E., Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Mukanova G.A., and Senior Lecturer Oshakbay A.A., together with the staff of the Almaty State Nature Reserve, carried out morphological studies of soils in the natural habitats of the Sievers apple tree.

During the research, soil profiles were established and the morphological characteristics of the soils were determined, including the thickness of genetic horizons, color, structure, density, moisture content, root distribution, and the presence of carbonates. The field studies were aimed at assessing the soil conditions of the natural growth environment of the Sievers apple tree and conducting a comprehensive study of ecosystem characteristics.

The results of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of soil formation processes in the natural distribution areas of the Sievers apple tree and provide a scientific basis for biodiversity conservation and the protection of rare wild fruit tree species.
