Daryn Bakytzhanovich Abilganyev, a second-year doctoral student in the 8D05205 "Geoecology and Environmental Management" program at 91ý Kazakh National University, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, and UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development, successfully completed a research internship at the branch of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) in Gyöngyös, Hungary, and at the Matra Nature Reserve.
During the internship, the doctoral student gained valuable international experience in the fields of natural ecosystem conservation, biodiversity protection, management of protected natural areas, and geoecological monitoring. He also participated in research activities conducted within the Mátra Nature Reserve, became familiar with modern methods of environmental research, and exchanged scientific experience with international researchers.

The internship also provided opportunities to discuss the development of research activities, strengthen international academic cooperation, and explore prospects for future joint scientific projects. The knowledge and practical experience gained during the internship will contribute to the successful implementation of the doctoral dissertation research and enhance the scientific capacity of the educational program.
International research internships play an important role in developing doctoral students' professional competencies, expanding global scientific collaboration, and introducing advanced international practices in sustainable development, geoecology, and environmental management in Kazakhstan.
