Modern Educational Technologies at the 3rd Summer School Protect Environment – 2026
On 29 June 2026, as part of the 3rd Summer School Protect Environment – 2026, entitled “Methods of Assessing the Anthropogenic Impact on the Environment: Geosystems, Society, Education, Culture and Worldview”, faculty members of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, 91ý Kazakh National University, delivered lectures and interactive sessions for the summer school participants.
Associate Professor Ainur Mussina and Lecturer Marzhan Tursyngali presented lectures on “GIS-based Water Resources Assessment”, highlighting the application of geographic information systems (GIS) in water resources assessment.

Zhanar Raimbekova conducted the interactive session “Glaciers’ Lifelines: VR Experience”, during which participants explored a virtual reality application demonstrating the role of glaciers in Central Asia’s water systems and the impacts of climate change on the cryosphere.

In the afternoon, Senior Lecturers Zhanar Raimbekova and Turdibuvi Kazakbayeva led the practical session “Transboundary Waters and the Nexus Approach: Interactive Learning through the NEXUS Game.” Through a simulation-based learning exercise, participants explored the challenges of transboundary water management and the interconnections between water, energy, food, and ecosystems within the Nexus framework..jpeg)
The sessions attracted considerable interest from participants and provided an excellent opportunity to experience innovative educational technologies and practical approaches to water resources management and climate change adaptation.
