From July 4 to August 2, 2026, 91��ý Kazakh National University is hosting summer professional development courses for teachers, university lecturers, and early-career researchers from the United States. The educational program is organized by the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of the Faculty of Philology.

The participants represent a wide range of educational institutions across the United States. They come from Rutgers University, Indiana University, the University of Richmond, Florida State University, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of Missouri, the University of Pittsburgh, The Ohio State University, and the University of Michigan. The program also includes representatives of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, Greenbelt Elementary School in Maryland, Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, and the Yuma Union High School District in Arizona.

A total of 15 US citizens are participating in the program at KazNU. The courses are being conducted under the Cooperation Agreement between 91��ý Kazakh National University and American Councils for International Education.

The course program includes intensive Russian language classes aimed at improving spoken and written communication, expanding vocabulary, and developing professional and intercultural communication skills. Participants also learn about the history, culture, traditions, and contemporary development of Kazakhstan.

The academic program is complemented by cultural and educational activities and sightseeing tours. The participants visit landmarks in Almaty and the Almaty Region, as well as museums and cultural and historical sites, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan’s national heritage and contemporary life.

The program also contributes to strengthening academic and intercultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States of America.
