History of Kazakh journalism

ThehistoryofKazakhjournalismhasdeep roots from thebeginningof the 20thcentury.Even if at that time there was no independent Republic as Kazakhstan traditional media in the Kazakh language was relevant.Because ofunfairactions anddiscriminationagainstKazakhpeople variousperiodslike “Kazakh”, “Ulfat”, “Aikap”b𲵲ٳ𾱰ɴǰ.

On 21 July of 1917, the first All-Kazakh Congress washeld.ThereAlikhanBukeikhanov,AkhmetBaitursynov,MirzhakypDulatov, and other intelligentsia decided to legalize theKazakhparty, which was called “”.One of thegreatchanges that the “Alash” partydidwastoopenthepublicationof the “Kazakh” newspaper in 1913.During 5yearsofworkof thisnewspaper,journalistsof “Kazakh”gaveanopportunityto thepublictochangetheirenvironment.That is when Russian Empire or the Soviet Union called todevelopagricultureinKazakhsteppes,AlikhanBukeikhanovsaid tomovefrom animal husbandry toagriculturegradually.Hepredictedthat asharpchange oflifestylecouldcausebadconsequences asfamine.Moreover, journalists of the “Kazakh” newspaper were against the migration policy.Russian people used Kazakh lands, where Kazakhs looked after their livestock.Amajorityof theKazakhpopulationdiedandmovedto othercountries, as aresult.Inaddition, “Kazakh”newspaperdid not follow the russification process.Kazakhjournalists thought that the Soviet Union and Russian Empire shouldrespectthe national values of otherpeople.

Nowadays,alotofnewspaperswanttocontinuethewayof “Kazakh”newspapersand be useful for thenationas well.Themaindifferences from the 20thcenturyarerelatedto thedevelopmentof theinternetand social media.Noweveryone cancheckanyinformationandknowthenewsof acountrythatsituatedin anotherpartof theplanet.

Toconclude, the “Kazakh”newspaperwithin 5yearsbuilt, laid the foundation ofKazakhjournalism.Eventodayanynewspapercould not repeat thesuccessandnecessityof the “Kazakh”newspaper.
