Students of groups AKM-24-1a,b from the “Actuarial Mathematics” program, together with their curator-advisor S. Tapeeva, conducted an open curatorial session titled “Mathematics — the Queen of Sciences,” dedicated to Mathematicians’ Day (April 1).
The event aimed to increase students’ interest in mathematics and develop their logical thinking skills. During the session, first-year students realized that mathematics is not only about formulas and problem-solving, but also about logic, precision, beauty, and even art. It was also emphasized that the subjects they study — programming, engineering, and economics — are fundamentally based on mathematical knowledge.
Senior Lecturer of the Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics, B.K. Abenov, attended the event, expressed his appreciation for the meaningful session, and highly evaluated the students’ skills and creativity.
