On September 28, in honor of World Tourism Day, the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, together with volunteers from the “Burevestnik” mountaineering section, organized a student alpine climb to Kumbel Peak (3,200 m), located in the Ile Alatau.
The event brought together around 70 students under the guidance of the department’s faculty members — A.M. Artemyev, A.R. Zhumadilov, A.A. Beisakhmet, and B.S. Adilbay. Students who successfully reached the summit were awarded the commemorative badge “Kumbel-2025.”
The alpine climb was held in alignment with the following Sustainable Development Goals:
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being;
- Goal 5: Quality Education;
- Goal 15: Life on Land.
