       On March 11, 2026, a regular meeting of the Educational and Methodological Association (EMA) in the field of Law was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University. The event brought together representatives of 20 universities across the country that provide legal education, as well as employers — national and international law firms and companies, and representatives of government bodies and professional associations, including the Ministry of science and higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

      During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of the Concept for the development of legal education and the activities of legal clinics operating at universities. Special attention was paid to the role of legal clinics in developing students’ practical skills and improving access to legal assistance for the public.

      Representing al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the meeting in an online format were the director of the student law clinic, doctor of legal science, professor Daulet Laikovich Baideldinov, and doctor of legal science, professor Alua Salamatovna Ibraeva.

      In his presentation, professor D.L. Baideldinov provided information about the activities of the student law clinic and elaborated on its work in providing legal assistance to the public and ensuring practical training for law students.

      In particular, he noted that the Legal Clinic of KazNU is an important educational and social project established in 2009 with the aim of providing free legal assistance to citizens and developing practical and professional skills among law students.

      In his report, professor D.L. Baideldinov also emphasized that cooperation has been established with several governmental and public organizations in order to strengthen legal institutions and expand citizens’ access to legal assistance. In particular, cooperation has been developed with the Almaty city branch of the AMANAT Party and the Office of the Banking Ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan, D. Nurpeisov.

      In addition, the student law clinic of KazNU actively participates in the work of the International Law Forum - an annual professional platform for discussing current legal issues and exchanging experience among representatives of the academic community, practicing lawyers, and government bodies.

     Overall, the student law clinic of KazNU contributes to the practical training of law students, the provision of free legal assistance to the public, and the development of cooperation between the university and government institutions.
