On March 13, an informational and explanatory meeting was held for second-year students of the Meteorology educational program regarding the referendum and the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Basic Law of the country.

During the meeting, students were informed about the importance of the Constitution in the life of the state and society, as well as its role in ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens. In addition, the concept of a referendum, its significance in a democratic society, and the opportunities it provides for citizens to participate in making important state decisions were explained.


The key amendments proposed to the Constitution were also discussed. In particular, attention was given to improving the system of public administration, strengthening the role of Parliament, developing local self-government institutions, and enhancing mechanisms for protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening the balance between branches of power and expanding citizens’ participation in governance.

Students were informed that participation in a referendum is an important civic duty of every citizen. During the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange opinions.

Such informational and explanatory meetings aim to increase the legal awareness of young people and foster their civic responsibility.
