A Day in National Style

On March 18, as part of the “National Clothing Day,” a meaningful and well-organized event was held at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. This festive occasion became a vivid reflection of the promotion of spiritual and cultural values within the framework of National Clothing Day and the Nauryz celebration.

The main purpose of the event was to provide young people with a deeper understanding of the significance of national clothing, its historical roots, and to promote the spiritual heritage of the nation. Students and faculty members, dressed in traditional Kazakh attire such as kimeshek, saukele, chapan, and skullcap, shared informative insights about their origins, usage, and symbolic meanings.

During the event, national music created a special atmosphere. Traditional instrumental pieces (kui) were performed with the accompaniment of a folk orchestra, folk songs were sung, and elegant dances were presented. These performances immersed participants in the richness of national art and once again showcased the depth of Kazakh culture.

In addition, guests were offered traditional Kazakh dishes, along with explanations of their preparation methods and historical significance. This segment attracted particular interest and highlighted the diversity of the national cuisine.

Special attention was drawn to the elegant kamzols and saukeles worn by the girls, as well as the dignified chapans and skullcaps worn by the men. It was emphasized that each element of national clothing carries its own philosophy, educational value, and aesthetic uniqueness.

As part of the event, a small student fashion show (defile) was organized, where national clothing was presented in a modern format. This vividly demonstrated the harmonious connection between tradition and modernity and highlighted the relevance of national attire today.

National clothing is not merely a fashion element; it is a reflection of the history, worldview, and spiritual wealth of the people. Such meaningful events significantly contribute to strengthening national consciousness among the younger generation and fostering respect for ancestral heritage.

At the end of the event, honored guests and teachers gave their blessings and shared heartfelt wishes with the youth. This day, filled with national spirit and unity, left a lasting impression on all participants.
