Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev got acquainted with the activities of modern research centers of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The guests of honor began their tour from the Robotics and Mechatronics Competence Center. This center, based on the concept of "Industry 5.0", is focused on training highly qualified personnel in the field of automation and digitalization of production. The platform, equipped with modern robots from the German company KUKA, provides unique opportunities for testing startup projects. To date, the center has already established close partnerships with such industrial giants as Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan.

In addition, the ministers were presented with the activities of the International Institute of Digital Technologies and Robotics. Here, students study in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics and the Internet of Things (IoT), mastering the skills of modeling production processes in a digital environment. These educational programs are systematically implemented at all three levels of study: bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

An important part of the visit was the presentation of the most powerful supercomputer cluster in Central Asia. The project, which has invested $23 million, is based on the architecture of Intel and NVIDIA processors. The cluster's performance reaches 2,000 teraflops, which allowed it to enter the Top 600 best supercomputers in the world. Its computing power is about 10,000 times greater than the capabilities of modern personal computers.

At the end of the visit, Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev highly appreciated the scientific potential of KazNU. He expressed his intention to strengthen scientific partnership and expand the exchange of experience between the two fraternal states, noting the importance of such high-tech initiatives for the region.
