On October 30, 2025, an open educational lesson titled “Psychological Health and Professional Development” was conducted by G. N. Borbasova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of General and Applied Psychology. The event was attended by second-year students of the Faculty of Medicine, including Dentistry students.
The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that professionals are regularly exposed to psychological нагрузкам, stress, and emotional burnout in their work. Therefore, maintaining and developing psychological health is considered a key factor influencing professional effectiveness and quality of life.
The aim of the lesson was to highlight the importance of psychological health in professional activity, to introduce effective stress and burnout management strategies, and to analyze psychological aspects of personal and professional development. Particular emphasis was placed on developing self-awareness, self-regulation, and emotional stability.
During the session, students presented reports on occupational stress, burnout, motivation, and self-regulation, linking theoretical concepts with practical examples. Group work addressed teamwork, communication culture, and the role of emotional intelligence in professional settings.
The lesson was conducted in an interactive format. The “Wheel of Life Balance” exercise attracted particular interest, helping students assess their level of satisfaction across life domains and reflect on personal priorities. The exercise contributed to a better understanding of life balance and strategies for its improvement.
In the final part, a discussion was held in which students articulated and justified their viewpoints. Overall, the lesson was conducted at a high academic level and contributed to the development of professional competence and psychological awareness.
