Strengthening scientific cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences
An official meeting with the delegation of the Xinjiang Institute of Physico-Chemical Technologies at the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the visit, Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board of KazNU, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, discussed prospects for joint projects with foreign colleagues.
During the meeting, the Vice-rector noted that the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China has reached a new qualitative level. Today, science and technology have become key drivers of sustainable development. "KazNU, as a leading research university, has successfully integrated into the global scientific space. At the moment, we have established productive relations with more than 90 scientific organizations in China. Partnership in the field of science has become an important tool of scientific diplomacy, uniting the potential of scientists and engineers of the two countries",- Margulan Ibraimov emphasized.

The successful work of the branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University at KazNU, as well as the creation of joint laboratories in the field of remote sensing and nanotechnology, were noted as concrete results of cooperation.

In turn, Sun Zhengwen, Deputy Director of the Xinjiang Institute of Physico-Chemical Technologies, expressed his willingness to further expand the partnership. He spoke about the institute's extensive experience in physics, chemistry and materials science, and also presented the capabilities of leading state-level laboratories. The Chinese side proposed to pay special attention to the implementation of joint research and training of young scientists and doctoral students.

At the end of the visit, the delegation members visited the university museum and got acquainted with the rich history of the university. Following the meeting, the parties approved a plan to promote innovative initiatives.
