On April 16, 2026, at the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, the faculty members of the Department of Biotechnology — Kairmanova G.K., Mukhatayeva K.A., Abdiyeva G.Zh., Ualiyeva P.S., Narmuratova M.Kh., Orazova S.B., and Malik A.M. — organized a museum tour in a round table format for 3rd-year students majoring in Biotechnology at the Museum of Normal Anatomy.
The event was conducted by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy, Bauyrzhan Shakenov. During the экскурсия, students explored the museum exhibits and engaged in discussions on the causes of infectious and non-communicable diseases, their prevention, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The museum dates back to 1931. Its collection includes normal human anatomical specimens such as joints, respiratory system organs, urogenital system, gastrointestinal tract, various muscles, and other structures. In addition, the museum displays congenital anomalies that may arise due to unhealthy lifestyles and harmful habits. These include anencephaly (a congenital absence of the brain), cases of fused limbs (“mermaid syndrome”), conjoined twins, and other developmental pathologies. The event helped students integrate theoretical knowledge with practical learning, enhance their medical awareness, and strengthen their professional interest.
